The Quietest Piano
A Winter upright piano played as quietly as possible

The story
Hi there!
Stayed at my parents place a little bit ago which coincided with the recent purchase of a Zoom H6. It was probably around midnight or later when I decided I wanted to sample the Winter upright piano again (See: The Loud Piano, a library I’ve already shared which is in essence the opposite of this one).
Naturally, since everyone was asleep I thought it would be nice to try and capture a different side of the instrument from before (and not wake anyone up), so I came in as close as possible with the built-in mics from the H6 and played each note as quietly and consistently as I could muster – 3 times for the luxury of round-robins.
Normally I’m a massive stickler for good velocity mapping, however this instrument at its core aims to explore the very bottom depths of this instrument’s dynamic range… so I’ll let it slide this time.
The name is describing how the piano is aiming to sound, played as quietly as physically possible, rather than describe its “status” among other pianos.

So intimate, beautiful
Gah, the quality of this instrument is just gorgeous! It doesn't really change in volume, but the muted tone just gives me lovely, warm, fuzzy feelings. I'm not sure what else to say, it knows what it's doing and does it extremely well.
Nothing short of exceptional
The recording of this piano is noisy, but in a good way - however would have liked the option for a noise reduced version. Such an intimate and lofi sound which suits my style very much. Thank you for such a beautiful instrument!
