The story
Telefunken (TF) Lead
If you are at interested in historic and mind-blowing outboard gear you might be familiar with Hainbach’s YouTube channel. He recently shared a sample audio of a Telefunken RA742. I won’t try to describe what this awesome piece of gear is, because I will definitely get it wrong, but needless to say, it’s sound was quite bizarre and inspiring.
That sample of course led me to create a sample instrument. Little did I know I would end up creating four. This is the first of them, what I called the TF Lead.
It’s crunchy, punchy and at moments too feisty, but you can do a lot with it! TF Lead includes three sound sources control by some tailor-made knobs, based on the original Telefunken RA742 design, as well as a sequencer to really take these sounds for a spin.
Reviews
Reminiscent of the Fairlight CMI!
For me this library evoked a sound that is reminiscent of the classic Fairlight CMI. The stretched sample definitely helps with creating that vibe, but the actual sound of it harkens back to that era too. The sequencer is somewhat unpredictable when playing more than one note, but that actually works in its favour and gives it character! Great work!
Like the abyssal depths
The sounds of this pack are extremely devouring. If you turn the reverb up to maximum and play the low notes, you will be able to hear the characteristic sound of the deep sea.
The GUI is great, very clean and tidy, it reflects the type of content in the pack very well. It would have been great if the samples were infinite, so these would be much more useful.
Nice, a little robotic kind of synth library
Unique synth pad. There are three parameters, and Echoes knob gives a nice reverb effect that makes this unique sound spacious.
