The story
I’d have to say I think it was Mr. Henson himself and the entire PianoBook community as a whole that inspired me to take this avenue with sampling over the last few months or so. Ever since I brought it home and I removed the lid to wash it for the first time and heard that ringing/resonance I knew that I had to attempt to capture that sound. It doesn’t have an extraordinary sound or even rare, but it is beautiful when played well. On a side note I do have a lot of sampled instruments ready to upload and I cannot wait to share more. This is the only ‘found sound’ one. The rest are all synths/pads etc. Graphics for the GUI and promo video were are all rendered, simulated, and edited by me. I’m a 3d artist on the side.

Wet Mallets
The best way I can describe this is a marimba, halfway underwater but still in a cave? Very percussive with no attack, but you can quickly turn it into an almost glass armonica.
I think this works best above C1 for musical stuff. The low end gets a little funky. But the mid to high is pleasant.
Watery chimes
I like the sound of this a lot. Very percussive, quite like a wet hollow marimba.
Not quite what I expected, but in a good way. I had visions of it being quite percussive, but it sounds smooth and would be good to add a bit of mystery to a track.
