An original Roland Juno 6 from 1982.

The story

Everyone has it, the one piece of ‘if there was a fire, what would I grab?’. Mine is an all original 1982 Roland Juno 6. I’ve got a few nice pieces but this one always finds a way onto every producing /writing session.

Theres a lot of downtime and travelling in this music world, and I found myself being away a lot more and away from my studio. This was my attempt at capturing the all important ‘glue’ that this synth really excels at. It really is a beautiful sound and having it now wherever I’m touring is pretty great!

Taking every note, slightly adjusting the LFO and cutoff sweep and keeping the chorus on the whole time, I think it’s made something very usable and full of character.

To give even more colour I opted on using a Redd.51 valve pre amp, to give it the abbey road 60s colour that we all know and love!

Add some slosh and get ambient, or use it as a bed underneath. Enjoy!

  • A Classic Pad

This pad has sat in the background of so many records, and here it is, lovingly recorded and edited. Thank you!

  • Beautiful Classic Pad

This pad is undoubtedly ionic and so versatile. I think it sounds so great in chill styles or rock music like indie rock or lofi rock. Its a smooth sound but it still has alot of character and the subtle modulation is always nice and recognizable. I have the arturia synth collection which has this pad as well so i dont know if this will be of particular use to me. I plan to test both out and see if i like one more than the other. This is really awesome for people who dont have any plugins of a juno though.

  • Lovely pad with a touch of nostalgia

This is a lovely pad with a bit of a nostalgic retro feel. It's smooth, it's nicely sampled, and it plays well. I think that it might be better if the entire keybed was shifted one octave up, but that might be just me. It's pretty good though!
